General Pricing

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

General Price List

It is our hope that you understand the charges listed in this price list. At Umpqua Valley Funeral Directors, we feel that you should be able to understand what you will be charged. With the exception of our basic services fee, you can pick and choose any items you like in order to customize a funeral that's right for you. Our services are divided into five categories:

You have a choice from a customized funeral to a minimal service. If you want to customize a funeral according to your specific wishes, you'll need to start with Basic Services (our basic services fee is mandatory, but everything else is your choice), then add whatever you like from each of the other four categories.

If you would like minimal arrangements, you can find immediate burial or direct cremation in our Funeral Director Services category. If you don't see something you'd like, just ask. We'll do our best to accommodate you. It is important to remember that this is a time to celebrate a life lived and our goal is to honor and respect your choices along this path.

Funeral Director Services

Basic Services of Funeral Director, Staff, and Overhead

Includes meeting with you and performing desired arrangements, preparing and
getting signatures for death certificate, obtaining necessary releases and permits,
clerical and staff personnel to prepare necessary documents, sheltering of remains
for first 10 days, proportionate share of our basic overhead costs. There is no charge

for assistance in preparing Veteran claims and other Veteran forms

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Local Removal Transport

Removal and transfer of deceased to the funeral home including vehicle and personnel (within a 40-mile radius)

Receiving Deceased from Another Funeral Home

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative
containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are a fiberboard.

Care and Preparation

Embalming

Includes washing, disinfecting, personnel, use of equipment and mortuary building

Dressing, cosmetics and hairstyling is included at no additional fee, when requested.
Embalming is performed in a licensed embalming care center.
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. You will not be charged for embalming if you do not select it.

Oregon law states that if a public or private funeral service and/or public viewing is desired over an unembalmed refrigerated human remains, the unembalmed human remains shall not be removed from refrigeration for longer than a total of six hours. No public or private funeral service or public viewing shall be held over the remains of an unwashed, human remains.

Funeral Ceremony
