Arnold Mathias Beyer was born in Silverton, Oregon on January 2, 1955 to Francis and Joetta Beyer. He was number 4 of 12, and his mom always proudly said he was her special “New Years’ Baby” because he was born so close to that holiday. He passed away on December 12, 2024, in Roseburg, Oregon.
Arnold attended Monitor Grade School, and then went to Molalla High School, graduating in 1973. He then went to Eugene for college attending to the University of Oregon. He became a TRUE DUCK, enjoying all of college life.
After college Arnold became a journeyman electrician. He did jobs all over the state, doing the jobs where they were located. His residence remained in Eugene until 2018.
Arnold loved the outdoors and he had such an adventurous spirit. Through the years he enjoyed hiking, backpacking, camping, fishing, especially trout fishing, cross country skiing, elk hunting, and he even did mushroom hunting. In his younger years he did travel across the US with friends doing a car trip; he visited all over Europe, and the Virgin Islands.
In 2018, Arnold retired and moved to Mystic Mountain —Glide, Oregon. He enjoyed all those years, “Up on the mountain” and it suited him.
Arnold is Survived by 6 sisters; Gerry Wiesner, (Phil) , Irene Foster, (Steve), Joan Cameron(Vince), Rita Bauman, Lucy Beyer, (Gary Crabb, ), Marlene Beyer, and 3 bothers, Daniel Beyer, Bernard Beyer, Anthony Beyer,(Jaime), and brother- in -law, Larry Sherrick. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his bother Ken Beyer, his sister Pat Sherrick and one niece, Francine Coleman.
Arnold’s services will be January 24, 2025 at St Joseph Catholic Church and burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roseburg, Oregon.
