Cinda Colleen Lehne

Cinda Colleen Lehne, age 75, of Roseburg, Oregon, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ at her home in the early morning hours of August 4th. Cinda was born in Portland in 1951. She grew up in Roseburg, where she attended Roseburg High School and graduated with high honors with the class of 1969. Shortly thereafter, Cinda married the love of her life Norman G. Lehne, also of Roseburg, who was enlisted on active duty in the United States Air Force. Later in that year, the Air Force sent the newly wed couple to Guam to serve our country during the Vietnam War. After a few years of service, Norm and Cinda returned to Roseburg to start a family. Together, with determination and a lot of hard work, they built a thriving family produce farm–Norm Lehne Garden & Orchards–which has grown each year since 1974.

Cinda loved her family with all her heart. On any given day, one could find her cooking a fabulous meal packed with veggies from their farm, or baking delicious treats like her famous chocolate chip brownies–usually in quantities sufficient to feed a small army. Her passionate cooking was born out of a mindset of generosity, thoughtfulness, perfecting new techniques, enjoying all the good things God has created, and sharing this joy with her family and close friends.

Known by all as a benevolent and caring woman, Cinda also had a brilliant sense of humor and was full of tenacity, grit and old-school common sense. Her family and friends could tell many stories of her practical jokes, laughter-filled parties and skill at just about any board or card game. She was quick to volunteer at her children’s school, sporting events and church. Additionally, she loved supporting all of her grandchildren’s many school, extra-curricular and entrepreneurial activities.

Most importantly, Cinda is remembered for her testimony of the amazing work God did in her life through faith in Jesus Christ.

Cinda is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Norm Lehne, and her three children, their spouses, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild: son, Glen and wife Wendy; daughter, Colleen and husband Nathan; daughter, Beth and husband Robert; grandchildren Ashlynn, Kylie, Timothy, Noelle, Reed, Violet, Quincy, Miriam, David and Ben; and great-grandson Tony. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jessie; father, Roy; brother, Patrick; and son-in-law, Danta.

Cinda’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the wonderful care given by the Amedisys Hospice care team of Roseburg and the Intensive Care Unit staff at Mercy Medical Center. A public memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14th, at 4 pm at Covenant Life Church at 1553 NE Vine Street in Roseburg.
