Katherine Renee Trepl Barlow, born February 26, 1963, was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and tenacious academic, passionate about research. In addition to earning a PhD in Anthropology, she went on to teach at colleges and universities in Oregon and Utah, curate museum collections, publish numerous papers, and appear in documentaries and magazines. She was a strong-willed, independent adventurer to the last, succumbing to cancer on March 31, 2023. She is survived by her father John Alan Trepl and his wife Janet Trepl, her mother JoAnn Trepl, her brothers John Alan Trepl II and James English Trepl, her sisters Elisabeth Michelle Trepl and Margaret Irene Howe (Trepl), children, Aaron Thomas Barlow and Caprielle Elaine Larsen (Barlow), granddaughter Aria, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed.
