O.B. Cooper Obituary

O.B. Cooper, age 79, resident of Glide, Oregon for 42 years, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 27, 2015. He was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi on June 2, 1936. He was a member and CEO of Glide Church of Christ, and devoted a lot of time to the church he loved so much. He served four years in the US Navy, was a police officer for six years in Chicago and Memphis, and twenty-five years as a team truck driver with his wife for JB Hunt. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting with the boys. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Lois Cooper, two daughters, Lynn Ann (Cooper) Drogos in Illinois and Lana Cooper in Texas, two sons, Michael Cooper in Illinois and Steve Cooper in Mississippi, and his sister, Margie Merritt in Mississippi. He also leaves behind four stepsons, Jim Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Herb Allert and Terry Lee Allert, two stepdaughters, Tina (Roberts) Bigham and Teresa (Allert) Waldrop, three grandsons, six step grandchildren, one great grandson and two step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Bee and Roy Cooper, brother Buddy Cooper, sister, Ann and stepson Danny Roberts. A private interment will be held at the family residence on Thursday, October 1st. Celebration of life services, officiated by Wayne Schermerhorn, will be held at the Glide Church of Christ on Sunday, October 4th at 1:00 pm.
