Richard Anthony Forney

Richard Anthony Forney, passed away on January 10, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg surrounded by the love of his family members.

Ric was born December 18, 1945 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Lee Marie Wheat. He attended Sutherlin High School and married Sharon Carls on June 6, 1964. Rick served his country in the US Army and daughter Michelle was born while he was stationed in Germany in 1969. Richard owned and operated Rick’s Carburetor and Electric in Sutherlin for 15 years and in 1987 founded Tri-Pact Construction with friends Pat and Barbara Fenton, Carlan and Irene Bratton and later, Buck and D’Ann Henry. Rick enjoyed hunting fishing and stock car racing.

He could fix almost anything with a motor, but his pride and joy was his family. Rick is preceded in death by his mother Lee Marie Forney, father Ellery Forney and brother Toomy Dale Eversole.

Rick is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Michelle and husband Gary – Lee Espinosa, grandsons Rylan (Ericks) Guillen and Tony (Meshayla), brother Kelly (Dee) Forney, sister Charlene (Carl) Barron and beloved great grandchildren, Ivr, Bailee, Ava and Rocky Guillen.

Military Honors and private interment will be held at Roseburg National Cemetery. A public celebration of life will be held at the Sutherlin Community Center on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.
