Robert "Bob" Allen Slagoske

Robert “Bob” Allen Slagoske, age 86, joined two of his sons in heaven on July 17, 2021. He  peacefully passed with his beloved wife Barbara and son Steven at his side in Roseburg, OR. Born in Kenosha, WI to hardworking parents, Andrew and Mollie Slagoske, Bob strived to exemplify the value he placed on hard work and excellence in everything he aspired to do. He enlisted in the Army after High School and he loved to tell stories of training his dog, Nero, during the Korean War in Germany. He later graduated college at the University of Wisconsin with a BA in Advertising while working nights and supporting his family. After moving his family from Kenosha, WI to Santa Fe, New Mexico, Bob worked in newspaper advertising and then later made a successful career in Real Estate, opening his own brokerage alongside his beloved wife. He loved his sons and was an involved father, coaching their football teams and supporting their passions. Retiring in his 50’s, he was able to continue doing what he loved including hunting, golfing, skiing, “crashing” weddings with his wife on the dance floor, playing tennis, traveling to see his family, and becoming involved in the local Lutheran Churches. Bob had a way with words and was a purveyor of wise advice. His long letters to his grandchildren will always be cherished. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Glen Slagoske and David Allan. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Barbara; Sisters, Donna Jensen and Judith Glover; Son, Steven Slagoske (Vivian); Grandchildren, Eric Allan, Patrick Slagoske, Carlene (Jake) Leicht, Michael (Keri) Slagoske, Gabrielle Allan; and his 5 Great-Grandchildren. Burial services will be at the Roseburg National Cemetery at 3pm on July 30, 2021 and funeral services will be held at 10:30am Saturday July 31, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
